Ohangla music genre has all along been thought to be an all men affair where most popular and successful artists in this genre are male. However, over time, we have had some female artists defying all the odds and making it big in this industry.
Starting with the late Lady Mourine who was revered by her fans and even named Queen of the Ohangla music, she has paved ways for other female artists who have also shown their potential over time. Aqueeno Chogo stands out as the current lady who is taking ohangla music industry head on.
Despite the numerous challenges being faced by most female artists, Aqueeno has not relented nor backed down but has been doing exceedingly well. Her rise to fame came in 2022 when she made a song for Raila Odinga. This gave her much needed publicity and has since used the fame to push her brand further.
