Joel Anayo Threatens to Quit SDA Church
Popular gospel artist Joel Anayo has now threatened to quit the Seventh Day Adventist church over constant frustration from some section of church leadership. The Ndoa Mchuzi singer revealed this through series of Facebook posts that have since been deleted.
Anayo shared his shock that he had seen all over the internet that he was banned from performing in any SDA Church. However, he lamented that he has been fighting against this mistreatment by the church for over ten years but nobody, be it church, field, conference or pastor has taken the responsibility.
“I’m hearing from all quarters that I am banned from performing in any SDA Church. I have fought it for over 10 years and no pastor, field or conference is taking responsibility.” He posted.
In his view, this is like fighting an unknown battle which he is not ready for. He believes he will be able to get another church to worship freely. Anayo added that in his over 20 years as a worshiper he has never faced any church board from indiscipline case.
“Am not ready to fight unknown battle. God will give me a church where I can worship him freely,” he added.
He says some powerful church leaders have called themselves some informed pastors not to allow him in their churches. Anayo is not willing to fight any pastor and so he said just a simple goodbye to SDA Church.
The SDA Church has been of late marred with various issues of banning some singers and pastors from their pulpit. This caused uproar especially when Pastor Elizabeth Mokoro was also banned from the church. But she was quickly reinstated and the initial ban withdrawn.
