Ohangla Artists Should Embrace Unity and Respect among Themselves.

Unity and respect in whatever industry are very important in ensuring growth and prosperity among the players of the said industry. Without embracing unity making positive progress may not be easy. Lack of unity translates to lack of respect.

Ohangla industry is full of artists each trying to push their brands and bands to greater heights. Presence of many artists in this genre has caused serious competition which is a positive impact but can sometimes turn toxic when it is mixed with foul play and disrespect.

A recent case which is still there is of two artists planning shows in same area on the same date. This is the issue between Awicko Hundhwe and Musa Jakadalla both of whom have shows scheduled for the 16th of November 2024. First forward, we must acknowledge that every artist has a right to do their shows on whichever day or location of their choice.

Awicko announced that he would be releasing his first career album on 16th November 2024 at Egesa Villa. As usual, an album launch is a dear event to any artist and as such they always expect huge support both from fans and fellow artists and that is why they invite other guest artists to join them.

After some days, Musa Jakadalla also announced that he would be having his third edition of Kadalla Experience. This event dubbed as Legends Fest is also expected to happen on the 16th November 2024 which is also the exact date that Awicko had planned his album launch.

As if that is not enough, the venue of Legends Fest is Greenspan Mall grounds in Donholm. The distance between Greenspan and Egesa is less than 5km apart. The resulting impact is that there will be conflict of interest as one event will definitely affect the attendance of the other.

Awicko expressed his displeasure with the organizers of the Legends Fest faulting them for trying to sabotage his album launch. He alleged that other fellow artists who have released albums this year have all been accorded maximum space without interference only for him to be sabotaged.

There could have not been this kind of tussle if the industry had respect and unity where every artist support and uplift each other. Such cases only create divisions among the artists which in turn affects the productivity and success of the ohangla industry.
